This article details how to create a series of recurring appointments for a patient.

1. Navigate to Scheduling.

2. Click ADD.

3. Select Add New Appointment.

click add new appointment

4. Search for and select the patient’s name.

5. Enter the Provider and Location.

Note: Once you select the patient, the provider, and the location, a schedule preview will appear to the left. The schedule preview will show you the schedule for the first day of the recurring series of appointments, but not any subsequent days. If you choose a room, the schedule preview will also show you the room’s availability.

6. Choose the Room and Appointment Type.

Note: Recurring appointments cannot be split across rooms.

7. If there is a default case in the patient’s profile, it will auto-populate, but it can be changed here if necessary. If there is an authorization associated with the case, it will also auto-populate.

8. Select the Recurring Series card.

9. Adjust the Recurring Details.

  • Starts
  • Recurs Every
  • On
  • Duration
  • Start Time
  • Ends

10. Click SCHEDULE

Note: Scheduling a recurring series of appointments may override scheduling rules and provider availability. For example, if you schedule a weekly recurring appointment every Monday and you’ve blocked out a Monday holiday, the appointment will be scheduled even though the day is blocked off. Check to make sure that all appointments in the series occur when the provider is available.
